What about sweets?

“Sweets” is definitely something I grew up hearing a lot of from my British-accented English teachers. And I say it too sometimes, but I think it’s a little quaint and old-fashioned so maybe when I say “candy” I’m really trying to be all cool and hip which makes me saying it even worse?? Spiral of self-doubt.
